Are you struggling to believe a promise from God that you’ve heard but haven’t yet seen come to pass? Does it seem like it will never happen? Well, here’s some encouragement for you. God’s word will come to pass. How do I know? Let’s start at the beginning.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. -John 1:1
John starts off the final book of the Gospel talking about the Word (of God) being present in the beginning (Genesis), and how the Word was with God, and was God. John then says the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We know this Word is Jesus, who was there in the beginning with the Father and Holy Spirit at the time of creation.
In Genesis 3, God promised Jesus would come and crush the head of the serpent for deceiving Eve which led to sin entering the earth, separating us all from God. All that happened in the first 3 chapters of Genesis yet we don’t see Jesus actually come until 38 books of the Bible later in Matthew, or 40 books later in Luke. It doesn’t matter how long it took. The fact of the matter is that the Word came to pass. Jesus came. The promise that we had been waiting for since Genesis 3 came like was said.
All of God’s Word is true, so if He said it, it’s going to happen. If you’re having a hard time believing God’s word, start back at the beginning. Look at what God spoke into existence back then and see how it is still in motion now. The word God has for you will come to pass. Receive the word, thank Him for it and count it already done by responding with a “Yes” and “Amen” to what God has said. Our “Yes” says “we believe it.” Our “Amen” says “So be it, I receive it.”
