As we celebrate 25 years of God’s incredible faithfulness at Rohi Christian Church, my heart overflows with gratitude. Gratitude for God’s guidance, for the people who have been part of this journey, and for the vibrant community of San Jose that has embraced us. This milestone is more than just a celebration; it’s a testament to the power of God working through us to impact lives, transform hearts, and advance His Kingdom.

Our journey began in 2000 with a vision given to my late husband, Pastor Jeff. His passion for reaching the lost, particularly young people in our community who didn’t feel comfortable in traditional churches, led him to create an environment where they could come as they were. It all started with a midnight basketball outreach, where young men and women gathered to play, build relationships, and ultimately give their lives to Christ. This was the beginning of Rohi Christian Church, and it set the foundation for the ministry we continue today.

Pastor Jeff’s heart for the broken, the lost, and those seeking a place to belong birthed the mission of our church—to be a come as you are church where people could experience the love of God without fear of judgment or rejection. His vision was simple but powerful, and it spoke directly to the needs of our community. Rohi was a place where people found hope, where young lives were changed, and where families were restored.

When Pastor Jeff passed away in 2008, I was called to step into his role as pastor. While this was an overwhelming transition, I knew that God had a purpose for me and for Rohi. It’s been a humbling journey, and as I look back on these years, I am in awe of all that God has done. From the moment I became pastor, I knew that my responsibility was not to change the vision of our church, but to continue carrying it forward, staying true to the heart of what Pastor Jeff began.

Looking back, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the faithful leaders who have stood by my side over the years. These individuals have given tirelessly of their time, talent, and treasure to see this ministry grow and thrive. Whether serving in the worship team, leading small groups, teaching children, or supporting our outreach efforts, their commitment has been instrumental in helping us accomplish the work God has set before us.

One of the highlights of each year has been our Easter and community celebrations. These events have become a cornerstone of our ministry, bringing together people from all walks of life to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and to serve our community. We’ve seen lives touched, families united, and the message of hope shared with thousands over the years. Through these celebrations, we’ve lived out our mission of “Real. Change. Now. Go.” — a mission that is not just about words, but about action.

As we reflect on the past 25 years, we can truly see how God has been at work in every corner of this church. We’ve seen children born into this church family, grow up, and become leaders in their own right. Some have gone on to become parents themselves, and we take great joy in seeing the next generation of believers rise up and take their place in the community. Rohi has always been a place of growth—spiritually, personally, and communally.

But our journey isn’t over. As we look ahead to the next 25 years, we are filled with anticipation for what God will continue to do in and through Rohi Christian Church. Our mission, vision, and purpose remain steadfast: Real. Change. Now. Go. We believe that God is calling us to continue being a church where people come as they are, a place where authentic transformation happens, and where we take the gospel to our city and beyond.

We are more committed than ever to being an authentic church that doesn’t just talk about change but actively pursues it. Our vision is to continue to disciple others, raise up leaders, and impact our community with the message of Jesus Christ. We are a church on the move, and we believe that God is just getting started with us.

Rohi has meant so much to me personally. It has been a place of healing, a place where I’ve witnessed God’s power at work, and a place where I’ve had the honor of walking alongside so many amazing individuals. The love, support, and faithfulness of this church family have been a constant source of encouragement for me, and I am so grateful to each of you.

To our faithful leaders and volunteers, thank you for your dedication and service over the years. Your contributions have made all the difference in the lives of so many. I believe God is going to continue to use each of you in powerful ways as we enter this next season of ministry.

To the community of San Jose, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives. It has been an incredible privilege to serve this city, and we look forward to continuing to be a light in this community, sharing the love of Christ with those who need it most.

As we celebrate 25 years of God’s faithfulness, let’s also look forward with excitement and anticipation for all that God is going to do in the years ahead. The best is yet to come.
